Frenchman Agoria has rescheduled his debut tour down under and will headline Plantation Project alongside Super Flu (the duo of Feliks Thielemann and Mathias Schwarz). Agoria has always ranked as one of the more interesting figures in the underground scene, releasing the acclaimed LP Blossom and more recently scoring the soundtrack to the Luc Besson produced film Go Fast. As a DJ, both his At The Controls and under-appreciated Cute and Cult mixes are necessary pillars in the collection of any serious dance music aficionado and he has arguably surpassed those efforts with his latest double CD Balance 16, which is available through Stomp.

A legendary figure in electronic music, Chicago's Chez Damier, headlines Adult Disco. Jointly responsible with partner Ron Trent for Prescription Records, Damier crafted the blueprint for what would become known as 'deep house' with a string of releases on Prescription in the early 90s. Damier took a lengthy break from production work and hence might not be known to house neophytes, though his hiatus ended in 2009 when he committed to a series of releases for the German label Mojuba as well as launching his own new project, Balance Alliance.

Manchester icon Peter Hook, of Joy Division and New Order fame, will be performing the Joy Division debut album Unknown Pleasures in its entirety when he tours Australia in September. Hookie’s latest venture down under certainly ranks as an improvement on his quite frankly appalling attempts at DJing as part of the Parklife tour a few years back. 2010 is the 30th anniversary of lead singer Ian Curtis’ death, who committed suicide less than a year after Unknown Pleasures was released. The show will include live performances of all of the songs from the album including ‘She’s Lost Control’, ‘New Dawn Fades’ and ‘Disorder’ as well as the classic singles such as ‘Transmission’ and ‘Love Will Tear Us Apart’.

Iconic rapper/producer/actor/screenwriter/film director Ice Cube returns down under. Born O'shea Jackson, Ice Cube was responsible for a number of highly controversial - and influential - hip-hop LPs in the early 90s including Death Certificate and The Predator. These releases followed his work with Dr. Dre and MC Ren as N.W.A and coincided with his acting debut in Boyz n the Hood, the acclaimed class flick that also starred Larry Fishburne. Recently, Ice has collaborated with Tech N9ne on the track ‘Blackboy’ which appears on Tech N9ne's album Killer, and shows he hasn't been consumed completely by the silverscreen.

The lineup for the eagerly anticipated Circo Loco party has now finally been revealed. Cool as funk UK tech house producer Jamie Jones, who thoroughly impressed when he was in Australia last summer, Italy’s Davide Squillace and Frankfurt’s Robert Dietz make up the tripartite pillars of a lineup that should have clubbers licking their chops and grinding their jaws in excitement – and rightfully so. While Jones is well known to Aussie crowds thanks to his recent tour, when he played a great closing set at the inaugural Subsonic Festival, the lesser-known pair of Squillace and Dietz are ‘DJ’s DJs’ of a very high caliber indeed. Tickets available from July 1st.

The annual Stereosonic festival returns with a rather impressive lineup - run through this list of names and judge for yourselves: Ricardo Villalobos, Jeff Mills, Tiesto – yeah, I know, but keep reading – Luciano, DJ Sneak, Reboot, DJ T, Carl Cox, Redshape, Optimo… While the abovementioned names, Tiesto aside, should have the club cognoscenti salivating in anticipation, there are also a few commercial drawcards for the peasants as well. Robyn, Major Lazer, Sebastian Ingrosso, Benny Benassi, Calvin Harris and self-aware party boy Wiley will also all be representin’. Tix on sale now.

Held over the first weekend of December 3-5 at the picturesque Riverwood Downs Mountain Valley Resort, located 3 hours from Sydney at the foothills of a World Heritage Wilderness area, Subsonic was last year’s best-kept secret, and this year promises to well and truly raise the ante. The first lineup announcement for 2010’s festival reads like any discerning clubber’s wet dream with Kompakt kingpin Michael Mayer joined by compatriot Dominik Eulberg along with the likes of Extrawelt, Heinrichs & Hirtenfellner, Jens Bond and Boris Brejcha all playing extended sets over the course of the weekend – and that is just the beginning. First release tickets are now on sale.
